How to: Flapper Girl Headband

I've found a piece of old sequin embellished elastic and instantly decided to use it for a headband. It was a quick easy deal, only about 10 mins. You'll also need regular elastic band, needle & thread, a hot glue gun or just glue and scissors. Here's how to do it:

Measure around your head and find out the length of the normal and the sequin elastic.

Handsew together:

Cover the seams with bias binding or normal ribbon. I used my hot glue gun for that.

Done! :)

How to: Cabochon rings - The spacy version.

I used nail polish to spice up some of my cabochons :)

Varnish the setting and a cabochon with nail polish of your choice. Let dry and glue cabochon into the setting.

Find a matching outfit and wear!

How to: Twigs with recycled leaves

Do you believe I couldn't manage to come up with a better title? I can't give it a short, snappy name! 
I saw something like this on Pinterest and instantly fell in love with the idea. I had to give it a try! It's sooo simple!

Here's how to do it:

Collect some twigs. Gather old magazines and cut out leaf-shaped pieces.

Attach them to the twigs using hot glue or sellotape.

Bind together and find a matching vase and LOVE because it's long lasting and looks too cute :)

How to: Map heart garland

Yay, geography!Is there anything more beautiful than atlases & maps?

Bought a second hand atlas for this and some other projects (As I already announced on my Facebook-page facebook.com/almostaliceblog - feel free to 'like' it for immediate updates. Also, google reader is going away so if you're following me via that, I recommend following my facebook!) 

Here's how to to it:

You'll need an old map or atlas, a sewing machine, scissors, a pencil and a heart template you can find on google. The whole thing took me about 30 minutes.

Print out a heart template from google, there are many different versions of hearts.

Use it to cut out hearts from a map or the pages of an atlas.

Try to vary different looks - land, ocean, mountains,...

Put your hearts into pairs. You can, for example, add an ocean dominated heart to a mountain dominated heart.

Prepare your sewing machine: Try to use thread in a matching color. Mine was green & white.

Now the tricky part: Start sewing in the middle of the first heart and work your way to the end.

Now you keep sewing about two stitches, pull up the presser foot and carefully pull the heart away from the machine. Take care that your thread doesn't get too long.

Start on the next heart and keep going :)

Lucky you, you're done!

Of course you can add even more hearts or simple round shapes.

Now hang up and enjoy!

How to: Golden Spike Earring Studs

You'll need screw-on studs (I found mine very cheap on eBay), blank earring studs (in the best case golden coloured, too) and a hot glue gun or jewellery glue like Hasulith.

Take front pieces (the basic spikes without the screw-part) and hot glue it on each earring stud.

Then try them on and admire your utterly work-intensive creation ;)

How to: Golden spike necklace

The spikes were from ebay, you can get them very very cheap from China. Just search for them, you'll see it's easy if you have paypal, and they have all kinds of differents studs and spikes! :)

How to:

- Gather your materials. Arrange the spikes like you want them. This picture is actually from my bracelet tutorial, so they're lying differently than in the actual necklace.

- Attach them to the chain with jump rings.

- Attach the clasp

And you're done!

How to: Spike ring

The studs are from ebay. I expected them to be way bigger and wondered what to do with them - et voila: I made a ring!

How to:

Cut the clasps off. (If there are some)

Fill the spaces with hot glue.

Glue the studs on the ring. :)

How to: Multi-layered pearl necklace

- Cut your chain & pearl string in a desired length.

- Add jump rings to the ends of the chains. Then attach a clasp.

How to: Leather Leaves Necklace

Got some leather leftovers? ;)

Cut out leaves from red leather leftovers.

Glue them together in a nice arranged manner. Then cover the back with another leather piece.

Glue a fake coin or something similar decorative on the top of the front side.

Attach a chain. 

For the closure, connect the chains with ribbon in the middle, that means an easy comfortable cheap closure as you can pull it over your head and then knot it together for the desired length.

How to: Simple lace collar

Follow these instructions to create your own cute lace collar in just a few steps!

This is sort of your template. You need a square, then you need to cut the dashed line. You neck has a round shape!Cut it out twice, then glue the two pieces together.

For a cleaner look, hotglue ribbon on the edges.

Sew (or glue) on snap buttons for the closure.
